NOTICE OF VACANCYASSEMBLY DISTRICT 3 - NIKISKI
Notice is hereby given that the Kenai Peninsula Borough Assembly is seeking applications from those qualified voters of Assembly District 3 who are interested in appointment to the Assembly Seat vacated by Assembly Member Jesse Bjorkman. Any qualified voter who has resided within the Assembly District for one year may apply for appointment to this seat for a term to expire in October 2023. Assembly District 3 is comprised of all of the Nikiski voting precinct and portions of Salamatof and Tyonek voting precincts. Questions regarding eligibility for this office may be directed to the Borough Clerk’s Office at (907) 714-2160.
An application may be made by completing and filing a Declaration of Candidacy with the Borough Clerk no later than 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.
Candidate packets are available in the Office of the Borough Clerk, 144 N. Binkley Street, Soldotna, AK 99669, and on the borough website at http://www.kpb.us/assembly-clerk/meet-the-assembly .
The Assembly will appoint a successor to Mr. Bjorkman’s seat at the January 17, 2023 regular meeting of the Assembly. The successful applicant will be sworn in at that meeting and will immediately assume office.
