UAA Alert: * EXERCISE* *EXERCISE* 10/20/22, 10:20AM
Attention! This is the Great Alaska ShakeOut, one of the largest earthquake drills ever. Drop, Cover, and Hold On for 1 Minute
DROP to the floor now: during a large earthquake, the ground might jerk and roll strongly and knock you down.
Take COVER under something sturdy to protect yourself from objects that can drop from shelving or from the ceiling.
HOLD ON to your shelter until the shaking stops. If you can't get under something, stay low and protect your head and neck with your arms.
Now, look around. What objects might fall that you should secure in place before an actual earthquake?
