Senator Lisa Murkowski, who represents Alaska in the U.S. Senate, posted a series of updates on her social media account between November 3 and November 4, 2025. Her posts addressed ongoing government operations, disaster recovery efforts following Typhoon Halong, and the passing of former Vice President Dick Cheney.

On November 3, 2025, Murkowski shared her commitment to remaining in Washington D.C. during a government shutdown: "I’m not going anywhere til we reopen the government so spent the weekend here in DC splitting wood. Getting ready for winter the Alaskan way".

Later that day, she provided information about federal aid available to those impacted by Typhoon Halong: "As recovery efforts continue following the devastation from Typhoon Halong, FEMA and other agencies are offering help to those affected. Please visit any of the resources below to access Individual Assistance. Each of the programs listed below are separate entities—survivors are". The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is responsible for coordinating disaster response and providing assistance to individuals and communities affected by major disasters.

On November 4, Murkowski expressed condolences after learning of Vice President Dick Cheney’s death: "I was saddened to learn of Vice President Dick Cheney’s passing this morning. He will be remembered for his lifelong commitment to public service, from his time in the U.S. House of Representatives to his years in the White House. My prayers are with his wife of 61 years, Lynne,". Dick Cheney served as Vice President of the United States from 2001 to 2009 under President George W. Bush and held various positions in government over several decades.

Murkowski has represented Alaska in the U.S. Senate since 2002 and is known for her focus on bipartisan cooperation and attention to issues affecting Alaskans.
