Anchorage, AK – On May 17, Mayor Dave Bronson announced that Maintenance and Operations Director Saxton Shearer submitted his resignation. Mr. Shearer's last day with the Municipality will be May 26th.
Mr. Shearer has served as the Director of Maintenance and Operations since Mayor Bronson appointed him to that role in 2021. Prior to joining the Municipality Mr. Shearer worked in the private sector for over a decade as a project management professional, specializing in military construction.
“I have enjoyed my time as M&O Director and thank Mayor Bronson for his confidence in me," said Mr. Shearer. “I have been afforded an opportunity in the private sector that will allow me to continue pursuing my passion for project management that I could not pass up. I will miss the incredible staff at M&O and am confident in their ability to continue serving the people of Anchorage," stated Mr. Shearer.
“Saxton has been a steady and tremendous asset to our team. His work on the Hiland Avalanche stands out as a highlight during his time with us. I wish him nothing but the best in his career going forward," said Mayor Bronson.
The Administration is actively recruiting to fill the position.
