Sen. Dan Sullivan, U.S. Senator from Alaska, posted a series of statements on his official X (formerly Twitter) account between September 30 and October 1, 2025, addressing military standards and recent congressional actions regarding government funding.

On September 30, Sullivan commented on military fitness requirements with a direct message to the Secretary of the Army: "Way to go, @SecWar! If you can’t make the weight, get on the pull-up bar, or do PFTs, you don’t belong in the U.S. military."

Later that day, he reported his participation in passing a continuing resolution in Congress: "Tonight, I voted with my Republican and Democrat colleagues for a short-term, nonpartisan continuing resolution (CR) to keep our government open, fund our essential services, support our military, and ensure federal workers are paid. Bipartisan members of the House and Senate are".

On October 1, Sullivan criticized Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s approach to budget negotiations: "Chuck Schumer is trying to cling to power and appease his far-left base. Stop the games, Chuck. The American people deserve better than the Schumer Shutdown."

Continuing resolutions are frequently used by Congress as temporary measures to prevent government shutdowns when annual appropriations bills have not been passed by the start of the fiscal year. Disagreements over spending priorities or policy provisions often lead to partisan disputes over these resolutions.

Senator Dan Sullivan has served as Alaska's junior senator since 2015 and is known for his focus on defense issues and advocacy for strong national security policies.
