Senator Dan Sullivan, who represents Alaska in the U.S. Senate, recently posted a series of updates on his social media account highlighting legislative actions and funding initiatives affecting Alaskan workers and infrastructure.

On September 3, 2025, Sullivan wrote: "Thanks to the OBBB, Alaskan workers will keep more of their hard-earned paychecks with no taxes on tips and no taxes on overtime. Upwards of 14,000 Alaskans serve in tipped professions, and 63% of Alaskan workers are in overtime eligible jobs."

The following day, September 4, 2025, he announced legislative progress regarding land management: "Big news for Alaska: The House passed our bill to rescind the Biden admin’s disastrous Central Yukon Resource Management Plan—a clear case of federal overreach that locks up Alaska’s lands, ignores Alaska Native voices, undermines ANCSA & ANILCA, and blocks access to critical".

On September 5, 2025, Sullivan highlighted a significant funding achievement for maritime infrastructure: "I secured $300 million to homeport the @USCG icebreaker Storis in Juneau. Senate Democrats tried to strip this funding—and everything good for Alaska—out of the budget reconciliation bill. But we fought back, we beat them, and America and Alaska are benefitting."

Senator Sullivan has served as one of Alaska's two U.S. Senators since 2015. The Central Yukon Resource Management Plan referenced in his post was developed by the Bureau of Land Management under the Biden administration; it governs millions of acres in central Alaska and has been subject to debate regarding its impact on resource development and indigenous rights. The referenced OBBB legislation appears aimed at reducing tax burdens for certain categories of workers in Alaska.
