Senator Lisa Murkowski, representing Alaska, addressed several topics in recent posts on her social media account.

On August 30, 2025, Murkowski commented on changes at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), stating: "The firing of CDC Director Susan Monarez just a month after her confirmation, along with the departure of other high-level disease experts the day after her termination, raises considerable questions about what is happening within the agency. Americans must be able to fully trust".

The following day, August 31, 2025, she highlighted her visit to a military training exercise in Alaska: "Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to tour the USS Abraham Lincoln during its stop in Alaska as part of Northern Edge 25, a joint field training exercise. It was impressive to watch our servicemembers simulate realistic warfighter training across the state, from JBER to https://t.co/ipGFH4ElRt".

On September 1, 2025, Murkowski marked Labor Day by acknowledging American workers: "Happy Labor Day! Today we celebrate the men and women whose hard work powers our communities and strengthens our nation. https://t.co/oup1VqhoOV".

Senator Murkowski has served as one of Alaska's U.S. Senators since 2002 and is known for her focus on public health issues and support for military readiness. The CDC has experienced leadership transitions before; changes at its highest levels often draw attention due to the agency’s central role in national health policy. Northern Edge is a recurring large-scale joint military exercise held in Alaska that involves multiple branches of the U.S. Armed Forces and international partners.
