Anchorage, AK – On June 20, Mayor Dave Bronson named longtime public servant Mia Costello as Director of Legislative Affairs. Costello has been a lifelong Alaska resident, and most recently served West Anchorage in the Alaska State Senate from 2015 to 2022.
Costello served in the Alaska Legislature for twelve years; 4 years in the House and 8 years in the Senate. “Mia is a devoted public servant and competent leader. Her experience in both the legislative and executive branches of government, combined with her diverse history serving our community, make her an ideal choice for this position," said Mayor Bronson. “With Mia as our Legislative Director I am confident we can move Anchorage forward and accomplish our shared goals of modernizing the Port, enhancing public safety, and making Anchorage a more competitive place to do business."
“I love our city and look forward to helping advance Mayor Bronson's vision of a prosperous and vibrant Anchorage. I'm honored to have been selected to fill this role, and am excited to work with the Assembly, state lawmakers, Congressional delegation, and Governor Dunleavy's administration to make Anchorage a more desirable place to live, work, and play," stated Costello.
Costello's first day is June 20, 2023.
