Anchorage, AK – On June 14, Mayor Dave Bronson announced that Anchorage was selected the 37th Best City in the U.S. to live for families by Fortune. From a pool of nearly 1,900 cities and towns, Anchorage ranked in the top 50 best places in America for families to call home. The announcement, via Fortune's 2023 Best Places to Live for Families list, focused particularly on the ability of cities to provide a high quality of life that caters to the unique needs of multigenerational families.
“Anchorage residents know our city is an amazing place to live. On June 14th's announcement by Fortune further solidifies our position as a leading West Coast city for Americans to call home," said Mayor Dave Bronson. “From our dynamic economy, to world-class trails and parks, a cutting-edge university, diverse schools, affordable housing, high quality medical services, and position on the globe, Anchorage absolutely should be on everyone's radar. I believe in Anchorage's future and the potential we have to make our city an even more attractive and welcoming place for families to call home," concluded Mayor Bronson.
Fortune evaluated thousands of cities, towns, suburbs, exurbs, villages, and townships and reviewed more than 200,000 unique data points during their selection process. This second annual list identified communities across the U.S. that can help families combat loneliness and find a meaningful place to call home.
