Anchorage, AK – On June 9, Mayor Dave Bronson announced the Municipality of Anchorage's Employee of the Year awards. An annual tradition, the Employee of the Year awards provide a chance to recognize outstanding municipal employees who demonstrate excellence in their craft, garner the support of their peers, and provide shining examples of good leadership in our city.
Mayor Bronson presented the following employees and teams with the 2023 Employee of the Year awards yesterday evening at picnic held in their honor:
- Community Service Award: Christina Roberts, Anchorage Police Department
- Humanitarian Award: Dennis Lasley, Anchorage Police Department
- Devin Branham Safety Award: Ross Noffsinger, Development Services Department
- Welcoming Workplace Award (group): Port of Alaska Maintenance Crew
- Welcoming Workplace Award (individual): John Beesley, Maintenance and Operations
- Work Group of the Year (Direct): APD School Resource Officer Unit
- Work Group of the Year (Support): Healthy Spaces
- Executive of the Year: Elizabeth Vollstedt, Human Resources
- Supervisor of the Year: Wesley Renfrew, Public Transportation
- Employee of the Year: Eric Armagost, Traffic Engineering Department
Employees who received these awards were nominated by their peers and then selected by the Employee Incentive Committee who reviewed and deliberated the nominations.
