#ASDShineBright Ptarmigan Elementary School first grade students successfully coordinated a Pet Supply Drive with the support of Teacher Mrs. DeAnna Dunn. Proceeds were donated to the Anchorage SPCA.

"We have been learning about our community as part of our social studies curriculum and how we are each a part of our school community," said Dunn. "Since our reading curriculum also coincided with animals, they chose the Anchorage SPCA."

In total the students collected 70 pounds of dog food, 25 pounds of cat food, 15 canned pet food, cat treats and toys, dog treats, blankets, and bedding! Donations came from families, staff, and the school's local community with generous donations from the 673rd Mission Support Group on Joint-Base Elemendorf Richardson.

Thank you to all who helped make this a success!
