#BlackHistoryMonth: Inside the classroom. Enjoy these photos of our Bayshore Elementary School students artwork!
Mrs. O's kindergarten class learned about six different important Black historical figures this month: Dr. Mae Jemison, George Washington Carver, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Garrett Morgan, Rosa Parks, and Sarah Breedlove Walker.
The learning activity included making story books and creating a poster of an inspiring leader to be displayed in the school's hallway.
#BHM is an opportunity to understand Black histories, going beyond stories of racism and slavery to spotlight Black achievements. Stay tuned this month as we continue highlighting how our schools are learning and celebrating the history, culture, and achievements of Black Americans.
