Williwaw Elementary School shared the role of a school counselor and why they love the job.
The Role Of The School Counselor: School counselors work as a team with students, teachers and families. Their job is to help kids grow in their academics, social/emotional development and in their college and career goals. They work with students on building skills to be better learners today and caring, responsible adults in the future.
MS. MALLORY: I wanted to become a school counselor because I want to be in a role that supports the school as a whole. I really enjoy being able to connect with and support kids while also working collaboratively with an admin team thatencourages continual learning and growth!
MRS. BUCHANAN: My favorite thing about being a school counselor is building strong, trusting relationships with students and watching them grow into amazing human beings. It is also a privilege to work with such an amazing staff. I learn so much from them every day!
