During the holidays, the team coordinated the donation of 2600 lbs of fresh Alaska Grown potatoes, 9000 servings of in-house made mashed potatoes, 1500 servings of fruit and veggies, and 300 hot meals, 180lb of fresh bananas to the local helping agencies to include Food Bank of Alaska, Beans Cafe, and Hope Center Soup Kitchen.
Based on feedback from the agencies, the donations fed hundreds of families and were utilized in the holiday meal provisions from these local agencies.
The Student Nutrition Team at Central kitchen demonstrate seamless best practices when responding to crisis and supporting our families.
