It's Informational Monday and today we are talking about the FY23 budget.

The City of Seldovia operates on a July 1- June 30 fiscal year, just like the State of Alaska. Budget discussions via work sessions and council meetings begin as early as January of every year and continue all the way through the passing of the budget.

Part of the budget process is the adoption of the City of Seldovia Fee Schedule. The fee schedule establishes annual user fees for municipal services, such as, application fees, copies, harbor fees, and water and sewer utility fees.

The city manager presents the city council with a budget proposal at least eight weeks prior to the end of the fiscal year and The Seldovia City Council has the fiduciary duty to review and adopt a budget at least 20 days prior to the end of the fiscal year that is sound and allows the city to operate for the upcoming fiscal year.

The Seldovia City Council adopted the FY23 Fee Schedule and FY23 Budget at their last regular city council meeting, Monday, May 23, 2022. The new rates and budget will go into effect July 1, 2022.
