Asdshine

Anchorage School District issued the following announcement on April 13.

#ASDShineBright Students and advisors from Eagle River High School proudly display awards received at the Alaska School Activities Association’s (ASAA) 44th Statewide World Language Declamation Program.

The Eagle River High School students were awarded for having the highest combined GPA out of all participating schools. Over 400 student participants from across the state came together to perform poetry and extemporaneous solos or dialogues in world languages they are studying in Alaska’s public high schools. This competitive performance event took place at Dimond High School the last weekend in February.

Declamation 2022 was an outstanding example of public-school commitment to academic excellence through language and cultural education. This program exemplifies Alaska public school’s longstanding respect for diversity and global citizenship.
