Anchorage School District issued the following announcement on April 2.

Happy Friday! Today is your last chance to view student artwork on display for the 50th Anniversary of Youth Art Month. Click through these photos to meet some of the talented student artists.

Photo 1: Wilson, a second grader at Bayshore Elementary, shows off a copy of his art. The original piece is at the Loussac Library.

Photo 2: Marilyn, a senior at Bartlett High School, shares a drawing of her cat, Camry, that Marilyn drew using graphite pencil. She took the picture of her cat in her room. “It captures how cute she is,” Marilyn said with a laugh.

Photo 3: Janisa, a 10th grader at Bartlett High School, used charcoal to draw a picture of her cousin, Jayden, who is four years old now but was a newborn when the picture was taken. “She’s very special to me,” Janisa said. When Janisa isn’t drawing, she also enjoys playing the guitar and tattoos.
