Alaska State Troopers issued the following announcement on Feb. 24.
The DPS Training Academy welcomed 52 new recruits to ALET #2001. Despite over a foot of new snow, delayed flights, and white out conditions, the largest academy since 2007 is underway in Sitka. This group of recruits includes 15 trooper recruits, 25 municipal recruits from 18 agencies, 8 Village Public Safety Officers, and 4 Court Service Officers. Please join us in welcoming them to Sitka!
